BNI Kuching Prime Movers Platinum Launch: Our Experience Filming the Highlight Video

On 10 October 2025, BNI Prime Movers Kuching held its Platinum Launch at Seafood Shangri-La, CityONE. For us at Small Town Creatives, the event was meaningful on two fronts. We were officially hired as the video production team for the launch, and we were attending as members of the newly formed chapter. It gave us a rare dual perspective on the energy, structure and purpose behind a BNI chapter launch.

BNI launches are more than formalities. They bring together entrepreneurs, SMEs and professionals from across Kuching to build long-term, trust-based business relationships. Prime Movers’ launch was exactly that kind of morning – structured, focused and full of genuine interaction. More than a hundred businesses came together for business matching, speed networking and the kind of open knowledge exchange that BNI is known for.

Filming the Launch as the Official Production Team

Because we were hired specifically to capture the Platinum Launch, we planned our coverage around the moments that matter most to a chapter’s story: the leadership walkthrough, the energy in the room, visitor interactions, the flow of the meeting and the first introductions between members. Our aim was to avoid the typical conference-documentation feel, and instead create a highlight film that reflects the momentum and professionalism of the Kuching BNI community.

We used our Sony A-series cameras and a mixed handheld–gimbal approach to keep the footage clean, intimate and honest. Business networking events move fast, so we focused on natural interactions, real conversations and those small unscripted moments that show what the chapter stands for.

We also want to acknowledge the people who made the environment so welcoming. Our sincere thanks to our Executive Directors, Kenny Voon and Nicole Yeoh, for their support and leadership. It is no surprise that under their direction, BNI Kuching achieved the milestone of World No. 1 for Traffic Lights from September to November 2025. Their commitment to structured networking and chapter growth is evident in every meeting.

Why This Launch Mattered to Us Personally

As new members ourselves, we are already seeing the benefit of having this expanded network of peers and friends. The knowledge exchange that naturally happens in BNI – without pretence, without agenda, simply through the spirit of open sharing – has been incredibly rich. It is rare to find a community where people are so willing to help each other move forward.

Filming the launch allowed us to participate fully while also contributing our craft to the chapter. It felt meaningful to document an event that marks the beginning of something bigger for all of us.
